Lucid Dreaming: A NeuroTech and BCI Frontier

About

Designed for the NeuroTech and BCI university course, this program explores the sleeping brain as a natural brain-computer interface (BCI) platform. You will examine the transition from ordinary dreaming to lucid awareness, focusing on the reactivation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and the 40 Hz gamma signature. Through a deep dive into sleep architecture, the course covers the electrooculographic (EOG) protocol for laboratory verification and the recent breakthroughs in two-way communication between dreamers and researchers. Students will also explore induction strategies, hands-on EEG analysis, and the clinical potential for motor rehabilitation and nightmare treatment.
